An Unwelcome Guest

On Monday, November 3rd, Laura found out that she has a rapidly growing type of breast cancer. The past few days have been full of tests, information, questions, fears and prayers. She's still in the process of finding information out, but here's what I know:
  • Her treatment will begin with four months of chemotherapy followed by surgery.
  • The doctors have inserted a "life port" where the chemo will enter. It's connected to a large blood vessel. This eliminates the need to continually poke her with a needle as well.
  • She may qualify for a research study which still involves chemo, but whichever group she falls into will determine what type and how it's administered.
  • Soon she will have a full-body PETscan which will determine whether the cancer has spread or not.

More information as it is available...

Hi, Laura,
Just wanted you to know that Billy & I are thinking of you today. I showed him the website. He says he is impressed with Carrie's skills at website creation!
Aren't we proud of Elaine? She is so modest about her worthiness! lol What a wonderful friend we share!
Try to think of something that you (& Steve) would like to eat for lunch or dinner. Let me know via this site or by phone. Billy & I will "whip it up" & dash it up to the 'burg to you!
You're constantly in my thoughts & prayers, girlfriend!
love you lots & lots~
Rhonda

Hey Laura,
Sounds like you’ve got a very nice friend named Rondap…You need to take Rhondap up on the lunch or dinner thing. It’s extremely sweet to do that for someone. It makes it a real personal & a very special thing to do for you . She has to love you bunches. Tell Rondap that your WONDERFUL cousin thinks she must be a pretty nice person. I can tell that I already like her.
