This is a big week.

Laura starts her 5 days of chemo tomorrow. She'll get a rest day next Monday and then the transplant on Tuesday, January 25th.

In the midst of something I don't consider very wonderful (AT ALL!) it helps me to remind myself of some of the things that ARE wonderful. Here are a few:
  • Her doctors
  • Medicine
  • The donor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Laura has GREATchildren!
  • Laura has GREAT  friends!
  • The snow/ice in Atlanta didn't keep things from moving along for her.
  • The prayers and support of so many people -- some of whom have NEVER even MET her!
  • Laura's attitude and general amazing-ness (made up that word, but I like it.)
  • I'm gonna be able to go to Atlanta to hang with her later in February.
Add some of your own ideas in the comments section....

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!! We love you!

1. She has an entire city praying for her and sending positive vibes up to Atlanta.
2. Her students are working hard and looking on the board where they wrote "we're doing it for Mrs. Kitchens".
3. That she's got all the love that she'll need to pull this thing off!

Laura,
Mike and I just wanted you to know that all is well at the corner of Linden & Lee in Leesburg. If there is anything that Mike or I can do, let us know. We will be in touch via letter mail (gotta support that USPS!) to find out about any things that we can do at the house. If there's an email address we can use for touching base, please send it to m.freitas@mchsi.com or dfreitas@byne.org. We are praying daily for you. Thank you Carrie for such an inspirational blog--I took the opportunity to go back to the very beginning to catch up.
